about our company
our industrial roots	EARTHANE Inc. was incorporated in 2004 to market and apply this unique product, but we are in no way new to the urethane foam spray business. We first began spraying urethane foam in 1972 and have applied many millions of square feet in all applications for a world wide market. During the first 20 years of our business operation, we specialized in industrial insulation. Cold storage, freezers, hot and cold tanks, pipelines and roofing. During this time, foam was used for only the most demanding applications and ours was a specialty business. We worked for companies like IBM, Mercedes Benz, Ford, the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, the US Post Office, major universities, public housing authorities and public schools and the Soviet Government. We did high profile jobs like the World Trade Center in Moscow, USSR, tanks in Taiwan and the house of the future for the 1982 World’s Fair. After that we went into the theater and themed environment business, which we are still heavily involved in. In this area we have worked on major Broadway shows, Riverdance, Little Shop of Horrors, Coast of Utopia to name a few, we have worked on projects for Disney, Harrah’s, Mohegan Sun and other Casinos as well. In addition our work has been in the motion pictures “Across the Universe” and “I am Legend” to date. our new direction	After 36 years in the foam application business with experience in most every field of application from buried pipe insulation and cryogenic tanks to props for Radio City Music Hall, Disneyland and major motion pictures, the people behind the EARTHANE brand have decided to enter the residential foam insulation market. The challenge is… How do you bring 36 years of spray foam experience to an exploding market? With new foam applicators entering the market everyday, the number of inexperienced contractors out spraying foam is huge. Most suppliers sell foam and sell equipment, creating contractors who are their customers. These contractors are “trained” in a short school and sent out into the world to spray anything and everything they can get paid to spray. At EARTHANE, we have chosen a different course. During the years we were a large commercial contractor, with up to 75 men working in foam application, we didn’t let an employee run a crew until he had around 5 years of experience. It is important to understand that advances in foam application have greatly reduced the numbers of equipment related problems that can occur and the electronic controls monitor temperatures and pressures so that the consistency of foam is better and more reliable. In addition the spray guns have been simplified and when run at the proper pressure produce consistent material mixing and when kept clean will produce a good spray pattern for a neat application. BUT, quality control is still king and in order to insure quality control the man on the job needs to answer to the voice of experience. This is where our difference comes in. We only sell applied foam to you, the customer. The man on the job is either a long term employee or a partner; the equipment set up is designed and maintained by an organization that has been spraying foam for 36 years and the experience is designed into the whole system from foam formulation to application specification to the answers to questions if some kind of problem occurs. There are no middle men to point fingers at.
our next step	In addition to our re-entry into the residential foam application market, we are developing an advanced SIPS (Structural Insulated Panel System) based on the EARTHANE product. Still in the development stage, these products will compliment our field spray capabilities with the ability to supply a packaged, panelized structure.
