about our company
our industrial roots,
our new direction,
& our next step
EARTHANE Inc. was incorporated in 2004 to market and apply this unique product, but we are in no way new to the urethane foam spray business.  We first began spraying urethane foam in 1972 and have applied many millions of square feet in all applications for a world wide market. During the first 20 years of our business operation, we specialized in industrial insulation. Cold storage, freezers, hot and cold tanks, pipelines and roofing. During this time, foam was used for only the most demanding applications and ours was a specialty business.

about our product
green? Yes, EARTHANE is green. As a product, EARTHANE is about as environmentally green as a foam insulation can get. It is water that makes this crucial difference. In place of chemical blowing agents like Freon and other highly reactive materials, EARTHANE uses water to make it turn from a liquid to a foam.

about spray
polyurethane foam (SPF)

Rigid polyurethane foams are used as insulation in buildings, on roofs, water heaters, refrigerated transport, and commercial and residential refrigeration where their insulation value, high strength, moisture resistance and durability are required. Polyurethane foams are also used for flotation, packaging, furniture, adhesives, architectural design, and cavity filling.

Polyurethane foams can be sprayed, poured, or injected into molds using special equipment. Polyurethane foams can also be mixed by hand and poured into cavities. This page will focus primarily on Sprayed Polyurethane Foam, better known as the acronym SPF, and its many applications and markets.

EARTHANE's
different system

EARTHANE is different.
It is a closed cell, water blown spray foam. Earthane is based on the formulation developed and patented by Gerhardt Regenauer of UTC Inc. EARTHANE uses no CFC’s (Freon) to make the foam, foam. EARTHANE uses water and because of the water component there are a few differences in the spraying procedure due to the handling characteristics of the foam but the finished product is generally smoother and more consistent in cell structure and it is “0” VOC, USDA approved for food contact and doesn’t bleed CFC’s into the atmosphere. It has a biological component in a similar ratio to the “Soy” foams on the market, but EARTHANE is based on sugar and the advantage is the polyol is stable. With soy foams the polyol must be mixed continuously to stay in suspension. In addition the water stays contained in the polyol as well unlike the HCFC blowing agents that tend to blow off and create pressure in the drum at elevated temperatures. All around, EARTHANE is a better product.

Properties
& capabilities

There is no better insulating material that can seal your home from air and moisture intrusion, save on costly utility bills, strengthen your home, and protect your family’s health from dangerous mold than EARTHANE Spray Foam insulation. Here's how.

extreme insulation The idea of extreme insulation is about performance in the widest variety of conditions. Extremely hot, extremely cold, extremely wet, etc. For those difficult conditions, EARTHANE foam generally works the best from -300 degrees to + 300 degrees give or take a bit. For flotation in water and in keeping water out of your building when it rains, EARTHANE foam works. If you need to keep apples, potatoes of other fruits and vegetables fresh in a high humidity environment, urethane foam works best. If you want to add strength to a composite or a wall structure, the dimensional stability of EARTHANE foam works. If you want to adhere to and seal a surface, EARTHANE foam works best. The point is, sprayed EARTHANE foam is more than insulation.
